The Vacancy
This is a fantastic opportunity for a caring and skilled individual to come and live in and care for our historic Tudor Almshouses in the heart of Croydon.
The Almshouses has up to 15 residents of limited means living in a Christian community, with a small chapel on site.
The role involves providing security, portering, post and general maintenance services to the Almshouses, Foundation Offices and other Foundation properties as required. Regular social interaction with residents is expected but there is a warden team with primary responsibility for their wellbeing and a 24-hour Careline in place for emergencies. The successful candidate will need skills in property maintenance, painting and decorating and will be working as part of a small estates team with specialist trades. Living on site in the large, unfurnished flat will mean no rent, commuting costs, or energy bills. Security cover will be provided for holidays (25 days plus bank holidays).
