Activities Organiser (Job Share)

The Vacancy
We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual who is passionate about enhancing the wellbeing of others through meaningful activities and social engagement. This Activity Coordinator role offers the opportunity to make a positive difference in the daily lives of our residents by creating enjoyable, stimulating, and person-centred activities in a caring and supportive environment.
Working Hours: 18 hours per week, with every other weekend working.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, and deliver a varied programme of activities that meet the social, emotional, physical, and recreational needs of residents.
- Encourage residents to participate in activities that promote independence, wellbeing, and inclusion.
- Take residents’ individual interests, preferences, and abilities into account when planning activities and events.
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues to create a welcoming and engaging environment.
- Support residents during group and one-to-one activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and enjoyment at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of activities and resident participation where required.
- Report any concerns regarding residents’ wellbeing to the appropriate senior staff member.
About You
- Previous experience working within a care home or similar setting is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided for the right candidate.
- A creative, enthusiastic, and caring approach with a genuine interest in improving residents’ quality of life.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work shifts and support special events where required.

Staff Training
All our staff take part in a structured training programme which is tailored to each individual and is geared to help them to offer the high standards of care that are expected in a Whitgift Care home.
