Housekeeper
Permanent, Full Time (31.25 hours per week)

We are looking for a reliable and compassionate Housekeeper to join our warm and friendly team at Whitgift House.  You will play an essential role in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for service users, staff, and visitors.

The successful candidate will undertake all aspects of cleaning duties and deliver a high standard laundry service, ensuring that services meet the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in compliance with statutory and Foundation regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain health and safety standards for service users and staff.
  • Clean and sanitise washrooms, communal areas, and work rooms.
  • Cleaning duties including vacuuming carpets, shampooing, hard floor mopping, dusting, polishing, and sanitising.
  • Carry out laundry duties, including washing, drying, and ironing
  • Ensure cleaning supplies are used safely and stored correctly
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues to management
  • Promote a secure, relaxed and homely environment, ensuring the privacy, self-respect, dignity, and wellbeing of each individual.

About You

  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience as well as an understanding of hygiene and infection control standards is preferred, but not essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good attention to detail
  • Friendly, respectful, and compassionate attitude

All our staff take part in a structured training programme which is tailored to each individual and is geared to help them to offer the high standards of care that are expected in a Whitgift Care home.
